Every day, the fight to preserve life through medical blood transfusions occurs in ambulances and hospitals throughout the world.  Consumer Reports has estimated that blood transfusions save nearly 10,000 lives a day.  Yet, the Jehovah’s Witness religion has taken a hard stance against blood transfusions, claiming that the process of replacing blood loss through the transfusion of whole blood cells into the veins of the body is a direct violation of God’s law on blood.

In this documentation packet, we examine the claims of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the light of biblical Scripture and scientific evidence.  Through a series of questions and photocopied documentation, we seek to convince Jehovah’s Witnesses that the Watchtower policy on blood transfusions is neither biblical nor consistent with the scientific evidence that the transfer of whole blood cells occur naturally in God’s created order, both in the womb and outside the body in the form of breast feeding.  If such transfers occur naturally in God’s created order, we conclude that one can hardly justify the Watchtower’s strict stance against blood transfusions being a violation of God’s law against eating blood.
